Unitex LP Gas Ltd. has signed an agreement with Meghna Petroleum Limited, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) to increase the usage and supply of LPG in vehicles as a step towards market expansion. The agreement was signed at 11 am on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the head office of Meghna Petroleum Limited in Agrabad, Chattogram. The agreement was signed by Md. Zobaidul Islam Chowdhury, Director (Operations), Unitex Group and Mr. Mir Saifullah-Al-Khaled, Managing Director, Meghna Petroleum Limited. Abdur Rahman, Project Director, Unitex LP Gas Ltd. and Jasim Uddin, General Manager, Meghna Petroleum Ltd. were present on the occasion as well.
Earlier this year Unigas was launched under Unitex LP Gas Ltd. On the other hand, Meghna Petroleum Ltd. currently has 829 filling stations across the country being the market leader in petroleum industry holding 39 percent market share.
Autogas or Auto-LPG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas for vehicles use. It is widely used and accepted all over the world as a fuel for automobiles. It has started gaining popularity in Bangladesh as well as a safe, environmentally friendly and affordable fuel.
বাজার সম্প্রসারণের পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে যানবাহনে এলপিজি’র ব্যবহার ও সরবরাহ বাড়ানোর উদ্যোগে ইউনিটেক্স এলপি গ্যাস লি. বাংলাদেশ পেট্রোলিয়াম করপোরেশনের (বিপিসি) সাবসিডিয়ারি মেঘনা পেট্রোলিয়াম লিমিটেডের সঙ্গে এক চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর করেছে। ১৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২০ রবিবার সকাল ১১ টায় মেঘনা পেট্রোলিয়াম লিমিটেড-এর হেড অফিস আগ্রাবাদ চট্টগ্রামে এ চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
ইউনিটেক্স এলপি গ্যাস লি.-এর ডিরেক্টর (অপারেশন) মো. জোবাইদুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী এবং মেঘনা পেট্রোলিয়াম লিমিটেড-এর সম্মানিত ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর জনাব মীর সাইফুল্লাহ-আল-খালেদ এ চুক্তিতে স্বাক্ষর করেন। ইউনিটেক্স এলপি গ্যাস লি.-এর প্রজেক্ট ডিরেক্টর আবদুর রহমান এবং মেঘনা পেট্রোলিয়াম লি.-এর জেনারেল ম্যানেজার জসিম উদ্দিন এ অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
এ বছরের শুরুর দিকে ইউনিগ্যাস ব্র্যান্ড-এ ইউনিটেক্স এলপি গ্যাস লি. এলপিজি বাজারজাত শুরু করে। অন্যদিকে বর্তমানে মেঘনা পেট্রোলিয়াম লি.-এর দেশব্যাপী ৮২৯টি ফিলিং স্টেশন রয়েছে এবং ৩৯ শতাংশ মার্কেট শেয়ার নিয়ে পেট্রোলিয়াম বাজারজাতকরণে প্রথম স্থানে রয়েছে এ প্রতিষ্ঠানটি।
অটোগ্যাস বা অটো-এলপিজি যানবাহনে ব্যবহার উপযোগী তরলীকৃত পেট্রোলিয়াম গ্যাস। যানবাহনের জ্বালানি হিসেবে সারা বিশ্বে এলপিজি বহুল প্রচলিত ও সমাদৃত। নিরাপদ, পরিবেশ বান্ধব এবং সাশ্রয়ী জ্বালানি হিসেবে অটো-এলপিজি বা অটোগ্যাস বাংলাদেশেও ক্রমাগত জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠছে।
Unigas organized a program at Circuit House, Cox’s Bazar on 14th August 2020 at 11:00 AM to distribute High-Flow Humidifier Machine to Local Hospitals. The Director (Operation) of Unitex Group, Mr. Zobaidul Islam Chowdhury handed over Five High-Flow Humidifier Machine to Dr. R. Saleheen the Assistant director and superintendent, Incharge of Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, Dr. Moinuddin Morshed, RMO of Chakaria Upazila Health Complex, Dr. Nobel Barua, UH & FPO of Ramu Upazila Health Complex and Dr. Md. Mahfuzul Hoque, UH & FPO of Moheskhali Upazila Health complex.
Mr. Kamal Hossain the District Commissioner was the hounourable Chief Guest of the program, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, the Civil Surgeon, Advocate Sirazul Mostofa, President of Bangladesh Awami League, Cox’s Bazar, Mr. Masuduzzaman Khan, Chief Marketing Officer, Unitex LP Gas Ltd. were also present in the program.
The program was presided by Mr. Mujibor Rahman, the Mayor of Cox’s Bazar and General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League.
